Yes, you heard us, we’re going to explore the wonderful world of healthy eating! Saturday we’ll be exploring a local grocery store with a qualified nutritionist who will accompany you through the aisles of the supermarket giving you the opportunity to get free advice about your food shopping. We’ll learn how to read those tricky food labels and understand just how much sugar is in that cereal you have for brekkie every morning. Spaces are limited, so please text if you fancy joining us! Hope to see you there.

LGBT Parenthood Survey
The LGBT Parenthood Survey is seeking to identify the experiences and needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) parents and those planning to be parents in Ireland. This is the first time that a study of this nature has been carried out in Ireland and our aim is to build up a picture of these experiences so that we can inform service provision and policy changes for LGBT parents and those planning to be parents.

Group for Parents/Guardians of LGBT people
We will be holding meetings for parents/guardians of LGBT people. The first meeting will be on Monday, the 19th of September at 7pm in Youth Work Ireland, Galway, 41-43 Prospect Hill, Galway. We will have a facilitator work with the group, and it will provide opportunities for parents/guardians to support each other and discuss common issues or feelings that might arise. The first meeting will be more of a discussion of what the needs are of parents/guardians and how they can be facilitated.

Calling all 16- 21 year olds who identify as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Questioning!
We would like to hear about your experiences of messages that “It’s ok to be gay”. We know that some young people hear and see messages that it’s absolutely ok to be gay, and others don’t, and we would like to know more in order to better support other young people growing up.
